IT Program Accreditation
CIPS Accreditation is a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation of CS/IT programs that ensures alignment with international education and professional standards (e.g., Seoul Accord). It is intended for programs that have already produced graduates and includes full assessment against the CIPS Accreditation Criteria. Accredited programs are re-evaluated every 3–6 years and validate graduates as meeting global professional standards. Accreditation also qualifies graduates for the AITP (Associate Information Technology Professional) designation.

IT Program Recognition
CIPS Recognition is an informal review for new ICT programs that have not yet produced graduates but demonstrate strong academic foundations and alignment with industry needs. Recognition is valid for 1–4 years and helps institutions with internal quality assurance and improvement. Once graduates are produced, the program must undergo full accreditation. Recognized programs also qualify graduates for the AITP designation.
