CIPS Webinar: “The Future of the Web”

Webinar Summary:

The “world wide web”, or the Internet, has become common in the lives of everyone – it is hard to imagine a near-recent time when this did not exist. A time when static web pages had to be accessed through desktop machines to today’s sophisticated applications supporting billions of users through smartphones, tablets and even appliances.

This discussion explores how the web is likely to further evolve in the years ahead as end-user devices become more powerful, computing resources and network bandwidth continue to decrease in price, and functionality expectations continue to increase:

Vincent Chiew, I.S.P., ITCP

Dr. Chiew has over 35 years of diverse global industry experience and 40 years in academia, and is frequently sought after for corporate and professional development training.  He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a Software Engineering specialization. 

Dr. Chiew is a licensed and registered professional in engineering (P.Eng, FEC, SMIEEE), information technology and systems (ISP, ITCP, MACM), project management (PMP), and security (CISSP, CSSLP). He is CIPS Alberta’s Past President.  Dr. Chiew is certified as a pedagogy and andragogy instructor by the University of Calgary, Mount Royal University, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, and Robertson College.

Yogi Schulz

Mr. Schulz has over 40 years of experience in Information Technology across various industries. He works extensively in the oil and natural gas industry, selecting and implementing geotechnical, field operations systems, including measurement, production revenue accounting, and land & contracts systems. 

Mr. Schulz has developed and taught courses in Information Technology for The University of Calgary, Chartered Professional Accountants, ProjectWorld, PPDM Association and the National Association of Realtors. Yogi has also developed and taught various courses offered by Corvelle Consulting.
