About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Information Technology Manager is responsible for leading and managing all functions related to all information technology within the City. The Manager has corporate responsibility for technology planning, including the development and execution of a technology strategic plan that supports corporate and departmental priorities, the development and maintenance of roadmaps for major corporate applications, planning for and overseeing major technology shifts and industry changes, and risk management associated with technology services. The Manager is a key member of the City’s IT Governance Committee and is responsible for providing advice to the IT Governance Committee and the Senior Leadership Team on IT strategy, investments, priorities, risks, cybersecurity, and medium-term plans.
This is an exciting management opportunity for an information technology individual with a passion for innovation and best practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience including at least five (5) years of managerial experience including three (3) years of direct supervisory experience. This position requires a post-secondary undergraduate degree in a Computer Science field or three years technical program equivalent. Technical designations with project management training are an asset. The ideal candidate must possess and maintain a valid British Columbia driver’s license, as per City policy and can possess and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
