CIPS Ethics Exam no longer required for CIPS Certification applications

As of July 2024 the CIPS Ethics Exam is no longer a requirement for CIPS Certification applications. This requirement is still listed in the current CIPS Certification application and will be removed shortly.

All CIPS Members are however now required to confirm to adhere to the CIPS Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct yearly when they renew their CIPS membership.


All CIPS members agree to abide to the following CIPS Code of Ethics and its ethical principles/imperatives when they become a member:

1) Protect the Public Interest and Privacy of Information

2) Avoid Conflicts of Interest 

3) Take Professional Responsibility

4) Contribute to the IT Profession
